Socialites

Have taken the girls out a bunch of times this week for different social events. Monday was a power mom & young’uns extravaganza at the zoo — Lynn & Elana, Gayle & Alexander, Cyndi & Sylvie, me and Beenie and Mimi. The sky kept threatening to explode on us. There were huge dark gray clouds moving quickly above, but we were lucky and got to hang in the barnyard area without rainy incident. The cows were very cute on Monday. They had huge brown paper bags they were picking up in their mouths and moving about with the help of the wind. We released the wild things in a small enclosed gravel pit full of mini tractors. That is my favorite spot just because it is the only place in the zoo I can let the girls out of their stroller where they are contained.

Tuesday granny (my mama) came up to hang with the ladies. This means this week I got to run errands, go out to dinner, see a movie, go to a bar. Yesterday/Wednesday there was a playgroup of about five or six moms and their kiddies, let’s see…. maybe ten children, most around 2.5-3 years old. I brought my mom and sat around, chatted, drank coffee and ate donuts for about an hour and a half. I always appreciate the playgroup. This one was especially raucous for some reason.. isn’t the full moon soon? Oh yeah, it was Tuesday. That explains it, or not.

I feel like something big is about to happen. I have no idea what, but I am hoping for a big positive thing rather a big unsavory thing. Perhaps it will be that million dollar check I’ve been waiting so patiently for all these years.

  1. Could be!
    Who knows?
    There’s something due any day;
    I will know right away,
    Soon as it shows.
    It may come cannonballing down through the sky,
    Gleam in its eye,
    Bright as a rose!

  2. Wow… I just realized that I’ve seen you and the twins the last three days. Thanks for entertaining us so much while Sean has been in NYC. I can’t believe you missed out on my OB appointment this morning. It would have been so much more enjoyable with three girls under three in the tiny waiting room.

  3. no thanks necessary! we have thoroughly enjoyed your company. oh and i bet it would been a barrel of monkeys, literally, if we joined you at your doc’s this morning. wow.
